Vacaville announced Friday it has found a new assistant city manager.
City spokesman Earl Parker said Friday that the city has hired Laura Kuhn to replace Assistant City Manager Ron Rowland, who is retiring in November.
Currently, Kuhn is the deputy city manager and community development director for Scotts Valley, a city of 11,000 residents in Northern California. She also previously worked as city planner for the city of Simi Valley in Southern California.

Parker said Kuhn is scheduled to start in October.

Rowland currently serves not only as assistant city manager, but also as the city's community development director.

The city is expected also to hire a separate community development director in the coming months.
